For example, when I first let my guinea pig out of the cage, he was scared and didn’t want to run much, he usually hid in a corner or under the chairs.

My guinea pig has never jumped off the bed when I put him next to me, obviously they are smart and watch what they are doing.

However, just in case, never leave your pet alone on the bed without your presence because something from the environment can scare him and he will be forced to jump and injure himself.
